	summary
The (H)GW9-10 is a single-pole, Outdoor high voltage isolation switch designed for 10kV, 15kV, and 24kV power distribution systems with a frequency of 50Hz . It is engineered to provide a visible break for circuits that are energized but under no-load conditions, ensuring the safe isolation of electrical equipment such as busbars and Circuit breakers for maintenance and repair .
This switch is renowned for its robust construction, simple operation, and economic value. It is available in two primary variants: the traditional ceramic (porcelain) insulator model and the advanced silicone rubber insulator model (denoted by the "H" prefix, e.g., HGW9-10), which offers enhanced performance in polluted environments .
This product is designed for single-phase use in three-phase line systems, with a simple structure, economy, and convenient use.
This product is a single break vertical open structure, with single isolation switch post insulators installed on their respective chassis. It mainly consists of a base, post insulators, main electrical circuit parts, self-locking devices, etc. Adopting a knife type structure to open and close the circuit. Each phase switch blade is composed of two conductive blades, and compression springs are installed on both sides of the blades. Adjusting the height of the springs can obtain the contact pressure required for the switch blade. When opening and closing the switch, use an insulated hook rod to operate the mechanism part, and the switch blade has a self-locking device.
working principle
When opening and closing the isolation switch, use an insulation hook rod to operate it. The insulation hook rod grips the isolation switch lock hook, pulls the lock hook towards the opening direction, releases the self-locking device, and drives the connected conductive plate to rotate to achieve the opening action. When closing, the insulation hook rod presses against the isolation switch lock hook to drive the rotating shaft to rotate, causing the connected conductive plate to rotate to the closing position. At this time, the self-locking device locks the isolation switch in the closing position.
This type of isolation switch can be installed on pillars, walls, ceilings, horizontal frames or metal frames, and can also be installed vertically or diagonally, but the installation position should be such that when the contact blade is opened, it tends downwards.
Key Features & Advantages
- Dual Insulator Options: Choose between high-strength ceramic insulators for general use or lightweight, vandal-resistant silicone rubber composite insulators (H-type) for superior performance in heavily polluted areas and easier handling .
- Visible Safety Break: Provides a clear, visible air gap, confirming circuit isolation and enhancing personnel safety during maintenance .
- Rugged Outdoor Design: Constructed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including high winds (up to 34m/s), seismic activity (up to magnitude 8), and extreme temperatures from -40°C to +40°C .
- Simple & Reliable Operation: Utilizes an insulated hook stick for safe and easy manual operation from the ground. The switch incorporates a self-locking mechanism to ensure it remains securely in the closed position .
- Optimized Contact System: Features a twin-blade contact design with adjustable compression springs, providing excellent contact pressure, low contact resistance, and high conductivity .
- Low Maintenance: Sealed rotating mechanisms and hot-dip galvanized components resist corrosion and require minimal upkeep throughout the service life .
